Some Suggestions For Removing Blackheads Successfully

Keeping  your hands off the blackhead or blemish that may appear on your skin is extremely hard to do.  You know that you always  consciously or unconsciously, tend to squeeze your blackheads. But contrary to what people tell you,  “gentle removal of your blackheads” can actually help in reducing and preventing any further damage to your skin. But the question is how to remove the blackhead without hurting your skin.

Following are some means of removing the blackheads easily:

Light squeezing: You can carefully remove  the stuff from inside a blackhead with light handed squeezing. This can really help your skin.  Most times squeezing is detrimental to the skin, but how you squeeze determines whether it harms the skin or benefits it. Use “Gentle Squeezing”  careful not to over squeeze it.

Using products for exfoliating: You will be able to fine some low potency benzyl peroxide exfoliating product for removing dead skin cells at any drug store.  This product is very effective on the blackheads and is mild to your skin as well.  You can remove even the most stubborn blackheads with this product.  If you find that you have verystborn blackheads, use microdermabrasion.

Topical retinoids: Topical Retin-A help in battling against the blackheads, successfully. This product also removes and prevents the formation of the blackheads. Retin-A  reduces oil secretion and unclogs the pores by promoting normal functioning of the cells. But remember it is a long process.

Chemical Peels: Many skin care products with salicylic acid and chemical peels with glycolic acid are very useful in taking off dead skin cells from pores, very quickly, but do not use them if you are already using topical retinoids.

Metallic Extractor:  The metallic extractor can be helpful is it has a small and round opening in the end.  Just individually plug out each blackhead by using it, but it must be done very carefully to prevent scarring

Blackhead Strips: Just place the strip over the nose for about 10 minutes or as directed and then pull it off.  The blackheads that are on the surface level will be successfully removed.  Blackhead strips are quick and temporary method of removing the blackheads, read the instruction on the pack carefully before you start.

Diet and Food: Alter any bad eating habits.  Just reduce the oil production, initiate appropriate moisture for the skin and reduce acne.  Remember to drink lots of water and avoid oily foods.  Eat lots of fresh vegetable and fruits in your diet.  Use raw fats such as olive oil in your recipes, cooked carbohydrates and fats are not to be eaten.

Make UP: Buy cosmetics that do not block your pores.  Use only non-comedogenic make up.  Always use make up cleanser and properly remove the cosmetics off your skin.  Keep your brushes and sponges clean.

All of these methods will help you remove your blackheads, but you need to follow a regular skin care regime to permanently remove all the blackheads.

Acne and Food

You will find that most people with acne attempt to treat their irritated skin with external face washes, soaps, lotions and treatments.  But, the best way to treat acne is by getting rid of acne causing foods such as fried foods and by changing how you eat. This can be controversial.

A diet rich in naturally wholesome foods such as fruits, whole grains, beans, and vegetables is the first recommendation for treating your acne problem.  Then you will find that foods such as milk, milk products, margarine, shortening and other synthetically hydrogenated vegetable oils as well as fried foods which contain trans-fatty acids should be avoided.

The prevalence of acne being seen in the United States could be attributed to the typical diet Americans consume. Most Americans tend to enjoy fried foods in fairly large quantities which are usually cooked in the most harmful oils and fats. Not all fats are bad, however typical Americans who eat foods such as ice cream, cheese, bacon, and milk containing the fats that are bad tend to be more prone to developing acne and skin problems.

Most people who have acne cannot really be treated using creams and soaps because the root of the condition lies beneath the skin. I believe that blemishes and pimples are usually caused by bacteria and other irritants embedded under the skin’s oil glands and hair follicles, generally a result of poor diet and improper hygiene.

A low fat diet for healthy skin will consist of raw and lightly cooked vegetables, especially green leafy vegetables which contain track minerals and contain a lot of fiber. Fresh green vegetables are essential to your diet. Then  add lean protein source into your diet as well as complex carbohydrates, such as brown rice, potatoes and whole-grain breads. You will find that Fiber rich foods help to ensure a clean gastrointestinal tract, this is particularly important in the treatment of Acne.  Just consume 3 healthy meals per day that will provide essential nutrients and help to combat cravings for sugary or greasy fried foods.  You know that foods rich in Vitamin A, like apricots, watermelon, and broccoli, as well as foods like lean beef, nuts, beans and whole grains that are rich in zinc can also be helpful in reducing acne breakouts of pustules or zits..It’s imperative to consume plenty of water to help in flushing the toxins, which contribute to breakouts.

Boy With Acne, Click Here for more infomation

A lot of people thought that acne is only a problem for girls and not for boys, but that is not true.  I am sure that if you have a teenage boy at home you could not agree more with me. The teenage boy is just as worried about acne as much as your teenage girl is.  Some believe that boys are also struggling to cope with both physical and psychological problems due to acne. Usually when boys around 14 or when they  reach puberty, acne problems occur.

Boys acne usually can be manageable.  One of the first things to do is manage the diet, as proper diet is an important factor in controlling the problem. I realize that there is no scientific evidence that shows greasy foods and chocolate are the culprit, but most people tend to believe that they contribute to acne problems.

The teenage boy with acne should really keep his skin clean.  This is an unquestionable important for the teenage boy.  Just keep your face clean You can find many products on the market that is available over the counter.  Just find a mild cleaner that is suitable for all skin types, but remember to use it.

The psychological stress and difficulties of going through the teenage period or period of puberty could sometimes contribute to the acne problem.  Just remember, you could try and get your boys to join some kind of support group that could help them to deal with the problems wisely.

Helpful hints for both parents as well as the teenage boy on how to manage the acne problems effectively

  1. Try being very sympathetic to your boy.  Boy with acne may not seem as a big problem to you as parents but to the teenager it is a big deal.  You really need to understand their emotional needs and to support them
  2. Important for the boy with acne, never pick or squeeze at the acne or blemishes.  Remind yourself, that your fingernails is your acne worst enemy.  Just picking or squeezing acne could cause infections to your skin .
  3. Another reminder is never use regular razors when shaving.  This will hurt your acne, and the electric or safety razor is recommended.
  4. Just use a gentle skin care products.  But do wash your face at least 2 x daily with a mild cleansing product.
  5. When you are going to purchase skin care products, look for products that are labeled as non-comedogenic.  This type of product do not promote blemishes and prevents clog of the skin pores.
  6. If  you believe that your case is far more than can be managed over-the-count products, consult skin care specialist for professional advice.  You skin care professional should be able to guide you on managing the problem and suggest the appropriate skin care product.
  7. If after doing everything the professional advised you to do, and your problem persist as a last resort, you need to get the prescriptions from the dermatologist.  These skin care expert have the latest tools and the best skills to help solve your problem
  8. Boy with acne is a very difficult period of transition both physically and psychologically.  Puberty is a difficult time for boys and acne could be an added stress to their condition.  The teenager along with their parents should work together  hand in hand to manage the problems and it will make life more enjoyable for both of you.

Examples of boys with Acne and treatment:

A boy is found to have comedonal or obstructive acne.  Comedonal is open and closed  acne which  are visible but there is no evidence of inflammatory lesions.  To explain this, the pathophysiologic mechanism here is the obstruction of the sebaceous follicle by increased turnover and cohesiveness of the cells that line the follicle. You will find that the most effective treatment involves using comedolytic agents, such as retinoid or azelaic acid, which can reduce the increased turnover and cohesiveness of the follicular epithelium and stop acne production.
You must explain to the boy with acne that this treatment will not work overnight and, in fact, the acne may worsen for 2 weeks before it gets better. You will find that if the patient understands this explanation and trusts in the care provided, he may succeed in getting the long-term benefits of the topical retinoid (tretinoin [Retin-A] or adapalene [Differin]). But if the use of a single agent does not lead to a good response, coupling the use of a retinoid with benzoyl peroxide or with azelaic acid can have a synergistic effect on the acne of both boys and girls.
If you are a boy with acne who  has inflammatory acne, in addition to comedones, he also has papules, pustules, and nodules, these lesions are produced by the proliferation of Propionibacterium acnes, which produces free fatty acids that irritate the distended follicular wall. You will find that the follicle wall is disrupted and the extrusion of Propionibacterium acnes, hair, and cells into the dermis induces the inflammatory response and leads to the development of inflammatory lesions.
The most effective treatment required for the  killing of the Propionibacterium acnes microorganisms as well as reducing the comedonal obstructions. Then your boy’s acne is moderately severe and has not responded to a single topical agent.   But, it is reasonable for the physicianb to prescribe an oral antibiotic to reduce the overgrowth of Propionibacterium acnes. You will find that the oral antibiotics for acne include tetracycline, doxycycline, minocycline, and erythromycin. Benzamycin, a topical gel that contains benzoyl peroxide and erythromycin, was prescribed. But if  this therapy did not work adequately, a topical retinoid was added to the treatment regimen. But if these medications do not produce adequate results within 6 months, the patient may be a candidate for isotretinoin (Accutane) therapy.
The Boy with Acne sometimes needs other therapeutic options which are available for certains  adolescent include changing the oral antibiotic to erythromycin or minocycline, which are not associated with sun sensitivity, or changing the topical medication to Benzamycin
Summary of the Boy with Acne
The overall goals of the boy with acne is treatment which are  to: lessen the physical discomfort from inflamed lesions, improve the adolescent’s appearance, prevent scarring, and avoid the adverse psychological impact of acne (low self-esteem, loss of self-confidence, social isolation, and depression).   But the successful management of acne has its roots in patient education and the promotion of compliance. It is helpful to explain the pathogenesis of acne and the rationale behind its treatment so adolescents can feel like active participants in their care.
